Job Description
Job Title: Sport Intern Primary School
Job Summary: The Sport Intern Primary School will assist in planning, organizing, and implementing sports programs and activities for students in the primary school setting. They will work closely with the physical education teacher and school staff to develop and facilitate engaging and inclusive sports programs that promote physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and facilitating sports activities and programs for primary school students
- Help organize and supervise sports events, tournaments, and intramural leagues
- Work with the physical education teacher to develop lesson plans and activities that promote physical fitness and healthy living
- Provide individual and group instruction in various sports and recreational activities
- Support and encourage students to participate in sports and physical activities
- Assist in maintaining sports equipment and facilities, ensuring they are safe and in good condition
- Help monitor and track student progress and participation in sports programs
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities as required
- Perform other duties as assigned by school administration
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program related to sports management, physical education, or a teaching qualification
- Strong interest in working with children and promoting physical fitness and sportsmanship
- Knowledge of a variety of sports and recreational activities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, responsible, and punctual
- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred)
- Provisional SACE certificate
This is a full-time, paid internship position. The Sport Intern Primary School will report to the physical education teacher and school management team. The internship may be eligible for academic credit, depending on the requirements of the college or university program.
